The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame (GSHF) welcomed eight athletes and sports figures into its ranks at the 68th Annual Induction Ceremony this weekend in Macon, GA.

The weekend’s festivities began with the GSHF Golf Classic at the River North Country Club, followed by the annual Jacket Ceremony, a FanFest Autograph session, and an induction ceremony at the Macon City Auditorium.

The Class of 2024 includes a diverse array of talents from the sports world:

  • Shareef Abdur-Rahim: Known for his remarkable journey from East Point to the NBA, where he became an All-Star and won Olympic gold.
  • Eric Berry: Celebrated for his resilience on and off the football field, overcoming Hodgkin’s lymphoma to achieve NFL fame.
  • Cris Carpenter: A multi-sport high school athlete who made his mark in both college football and baseball before a successful MLB career.
  • Thomas Davis, Sr.: Overcame three ACL tears to become a revered NFL linebacker.
  • Claude Felton: A legendary figure in sports communications.
  • Paul Johnson: a coach known for his innovative offensive strategies and multiple championship wins, will be recognized for their contributions off the field.
  • Brian McCann: a standout baseball player with a World Series win and multiple All-Star appearances.
  • Wendy White-Prausa: A tennis prodigy who achieved top rankings and made significant impacts both in collegiate and professional tennis.
