The Masquerade is adding a new music room called Altar in 2024 (Elena de Soto).

A new entertainment attraction, Altar, is set to open its doors at Underground Atlanta on March 20.

Located inside The Masquerade, Altar is the newest addition to the Atlanta music venue’s lineup of thematic room experiences — which includes “Heaven,” “Hell” and “Purgatory.”

The attraction — which boasts a maximum capacity of 250 people — will showcase a variety of live performances curated by The Masquerade. Comedy acts will be curated by the former owners of the Atlanta Comedy Club.

Other features of the new entertainment venue include state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, as well as a full kitchen with a wide selection of food offerings, including healthy plant-based options.

Atlar is the latest creation as part of investment company Lalani Ventures’ redevelopment initiative, which aims to enhance the Underground Atlanta experience for both locals and visitors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Altar to Underground Atlanta,” said Mary Turner, senior vice president of Lalani Ventures, in a press release.

“Altar represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to revitalize this historic district, providing a platform for creative forms of expression. With the help of The Masquerade, we look forward to shaping the future of Underground Atlanta as a cultural hub for generations to come.”
