Dunwoody police have arrested a suspect accused of shooting his grandmother on March 24.

Erick Beasley, 23, is accused of shooting his 62-year-old grandmother in the upper chest after a brief altercation at 3014 Perimeter Trace, according to a news release.

“Mr. Beasley left the apartment after the shot was fired,” the release said.  “Officers found him in the area about an hour later and took him into custody without further incident.”

Beasley, charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, was transported to DeKalb County Jail.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
