The doggy social event of the season is happening April 28 in Midtown Atlanta. Midtown Alliance’s second annual Midtown Mutt Gala – a playful riff on the stylish Met Gala – will bring hundreds of Atlantans together in the heart of their city to enjoy food, music and costumed canines strutting their stuff on the red carpet.

The outdoor event is free for spectators, with a small fee to enter the costume contest.

Join in on the fun with or without a dog. RSVP at MidtownATL.com/MuttGala. Fashionable attire is encouraged but not required. There’s also a neat, fenced-in dog park at the edge of the venue for dogs and their humans to meet up and play.

Getting There:

The 10th Street Park is located at the corner of Peachtree and 10th Streets, one block east of the Midtown MARTA station. You can also find paid parking in decks and surface lots close to the venue.

Fun Fact:

Long before it was a park space, the northeast corner of 10th and Peachtree Streets was a ravine. A group of Midtown business leaders partnered with the Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1970s to fill in and grade the land, creating a greenspace that would later become surrounded by major development projects. Real estate developer John Dewberry bought the block in the late 1990s and has maintained the partnership with Midtown Alliance ever since.
