Three suspects were arrested by Sandy Springs Police Department on firearms and drug charges after a traffic stop at 11:38 p.m. in late March on Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Concourse Parkway.

“03/31/2024, at approximately 2338 hours, while patrolling the Peachtree Dunwoody Road Johnson Ferry Road, I observed a silver Honda Accord bearing Georgia tag #(CTL8886) traveling southbound on Peachtree Dunwoody Road. BWC (body warn camera) was activated,” Officer W.L. Honorat wrote as the narrative for the incident report.

Sandy Springs police officers recovered $585 in cash, 128 grams of suspected marijuana, a scale, a 9mm Glock 19 firearm, a 9mm Glock 43 firearm, 9 live rounds, 2 firearm magazines, 4 cellphones, and 1 purse. Police also impounded the 2022 Silver Honda Accord owned by suspect Laylah Faria of Marietta in which the suspects were traveling.

Faria, 23, was charged on March 31 with the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies. She was released on a $5,000 surety bond on April 3.

Isaiah Cornelius Gates-Watts of Fairburn and Aziz Lewis of Marietta were charged with the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Gates-Watts was released on $15,000 in surety bonds on April 5. Lewis, who also was charged with an adult seat belt violation. He was released on April 3 on $20,000 in surety bonds.
