
Helicopters, K-9s, fire trucks, police cars, and even an inflatable obstacle course will fill City Green as Sandy Springs hosts its annual Back to School Bash on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Those who attend the free event, which coincides with National Night Out, can look inside police cars, fire trucks, Sandy Springs Police Department’s mobile command center, SWAT, and QRF (quick response force) trucks. They can also meet the men and women in the police and fire departments who safeguard the community.
Two helicopters will land on Mount Vernon Highway, with the first landing at 6:15 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m.
A DJ will play music to get the crowd dancing and kids can climb a giant inflatable obstacle course. A new attraction will be interactions with prehistoric dinosaurs brought to the Bash by the Sandy Springs Recreation & Parks Department.
A free snow cone, hot dog, and other refreshments will be available.
