The high volume of animals at the Fulton County Animal Services Facility has caused the county to put field operations on priority calls only this weekend.
From midnight on Friday, Aug. 9, through 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, field officers will only handle priority calls and law enforcement assistance. Priority calls include dog attacks, police/fire assists, injured animals, and animal cruelty complaints.
The current dog population was 445 on Aug. 9 with a target population of 375
Non-emergency and lower priority calls will be handled Monday-Friday during regular business hours.
The Fulton County Animal Services facility will operate as normal.
All pet adoptions are free from Aug. 10 to Sept. 10 to help reduce the shelter population. For more information about shelter operations or pet adoptions, visit https://fultonanimalservices.com/.
