A driver who shot another motorist in a road rage incident took his own life in West Midtown this afternoon.

According to Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Andrew Smith, the male driver was involved in a road rage dispute and shot another motorist in the arm at Northside Drive and Marietta Street.

The shooter then crashed into a car at Northside and 10th Street, exited his car, and fired shots at another motorist, who was not injured. The shooter, a 20-year-old male, then took his own life at the intersection.

It’s unclear what led to the road rage incident. The wounded victim, a 51-year-old male, was transported to Grady Hospital for treatment.
