Centennial Yards’ first tower – a 304-unit apartment building called The Mitchell – topped out Aug. 22 across from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The tower is part of the CIM/Centennial Yards Company’s $5 billion transformation of what was known as “The Gulch” into a massive 50-acre mixed-use development.
This Mitchell has over 300,000 square feet, spanning 19 stories, and includes a full-floor resident amenity deck. The ground floor will feature 16,000 square feet of retail space.
Some of the amenities announced for The Mitchell include floor-to-ceiling windows with balconies, a pool deck, a resident lounge, coworking spaces, a fitness center, and a dog run.
“We are excited that in the coming year, The Mitchell will become home to many Atlanta residents,” Brian McGowan, President of Centennial Yards Company, said in a media statement. “Revitalizing Downtown requires an increased residential presence, making the neighborhood more vibrant, safe, and appealing.
A second tower, which will be a 292-key hotel, is also under construction next door to The Mitchell and is expected to top out later this year.

Centennial Yards recently broke ground on the 8-acre entertainment district. This next phase will offer 480,000 square feet of entertainment, retail, and restaurant space, including a hotel. The district also features a fan gathering plaza, expected to be a main gathering spot for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Atlanta.
Centennial Yards Company signed a long-term lease with Cosm, a leading immersive technology, media, and entertainment company, to create a 70,000-square-foot, three-level immersive entertainment venue.
