A liqueur tasting room will open this weekend in downtown Roswell.

Veteran Atlanta bartender, Scott Mayer, who founded Blended Family Spirits in 2019, teamed up with the partners behind Roswell brewery Gate City Brewing to open the liqueur company’s first tasting room on Oak Street. He will operate the tasting room with Gate City co-founder Pat Rains.

Mayer and Rains also plan to use the tasting room as a private events space.

Blended Family Spirits currently produces four all-natural liqueurs, including peach, blueberry, raspberry, and triple sec.

Mayer founded the company in Roswell five years ago. Growing up as one of nine children after his parents remarried other people, Mayer felt the words “blended” and “family” suited the spirit company’s name as both an homage to his expanded family and the blending necessary to create his liqueurs. Produced locally, Blended Family liqueurs are available in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky.

To celebrate the grand opening of the Blended Family tasting room in Roswell, Mayer and Rains will host a party on Saturday, Sept. 7, from noon to 5 p.m., with live music, cocktails, liqueur tastings, and food from Filipino-American street food pop-up Zarate Kitchen.

While open at noon, the Saturday festivities officially kick off at 2 p.m. The tasting room will also be open for sampling at 4 p.m. on Friday and at noon on Sunday this weekend.
