A pop-up art gallery at Ponce City Market will host something truly special: an exhibition of works by Asheville artists who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.
“Love Asheville from Afar” is a group exhibition featuring 25+ artists who work in a variety of mediums from sculpture to canvas and more.
Coordinated by the River Artist District Artists (RADA) Foundation, The Radical Hotel, Explore Asheville, and Jamestown, artwork sold during the exhibition goes entirely to the artist with no commission. In Asheville, many artists were displaced, their works were destroyed, and they have suffered financially due to a decline in tourism and art-buying in the affected areas.

“Today, Asheville is open – still stunning and standing – and ‘Love Asheville from Afar’ will bring a little of what makes our town so special to Ponce City Market, all while supporting the Asheville artist community,” said Vic Isley, President & CEO of Explore Asheville. “As Asheville comes back stronger than ever this winter, we can’t wait to welcome visitors to the River Arts District.”
The exhibition will kick off with a free opening reception on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5-8 p.m. and will remain on view through Dec. 29. During the opening night party, expect music by LEAF Global Arts, DJs Zati and Mesi, drinks from Belgium Brewing, Burial Beer Co., and Chemist Spirits, plus tasty bites from French Broad Chocolates.
