The Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce is kicking off 2025 on Thursday, Jan. 16 with a speaker luncheon featuring Rough Draft Owner and Publisher Keith Pepper.

An Atlanta native with deep roots in the community, Pepper acquired Rough Draft Atlanta (formerly Springs Publishing) in December 2020, and has transformed it into a digital-first media company that reaches almost one million readers a month across print, web, email, and social media. In December 2024, Pepper announced the acquisition of Georgia Voice, the region’s premier LGBTQ+ news outlet.

Pepper plans to discuss the state of local media at the event.

With more than two decades of experience in local and global media, Pepper’s career began at age 16 when he started working at WSB Radio. He is a graduate of the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia.

Pepper has worked in global leadership positions at Jupiter Media Metrix, Hitwise, Experian Marketing Services, and Outbrain.

Pepper has served as a board member of The Atlanta Press Club since 2021, having just ended his board chair position. He sits on the boards of the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Perimeter Chamber, Hands On Atlanta, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. Previously, he was a board member of Kate’s Club and Wholesome Wave.

Brookhaven Chamber is also holding events for new and current members. A member orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 15 from 9:30-11 a.m. in Brookhaven. Seating is limited.

Members will learn how to take maximize their membership, including optimizing a business profile, promoting a business on the chamber’s website, and discovering opportunities like the Georgia Chamber SMART Health Plan. Register here.

Business Brews is a monthly coffee meetup being held at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Serendipity Labs in Perimeter Center West. Greater Perimeter Chamber, the merging of chambers in Sandy Springs and Perimeter, are joining Brookhaven for the networking event. Register here.

A networking lunch is planned for Thursday, Feb. 6 at Fogo de Chao. The chamber said it is an opportunity to showcase a business, promote products and services, and network with other professionals while enjoying a casual lunch. Register here.
