The Visit Sandy Springs’ board announced that Adam Berrios will serve as the destination marketing organization’s executive director, replacing Jennifer Cruce, who retired at the end of last year.
Berrios began in his new position on Jan. 6, according to a Visit Sandy Springs news release.
He came to Sandy Springs after serving as the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau’s vice president of sales and services. He planned and directed activities of the sales department, the destination services team, and group and travel client services, the release said. He also led hotel partner relations.
“As my career has taken me around the Southeast over the past decade, Sandy Springs has remained on my mind. I look forward to returning to the region and sharing how much it has grown with meeting planners and visitors all over the country,” Berrios said.
Berrios is not new to the region, having served as the senior sales manager for the Alpharetta Convention & Visitors Bureau from 2011-2016, according to the release.
Before joining the Little Rock CVB, Berrios was a senior sales manager with VisitGreenvilleSC. He earned a Master of Professional Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina.
The national search was led by Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul, who serves as the chairman of the Visit Sandy Springs board of directors.
“Between his previous sales and marketing experience and his knowledge and love for this area, I have no doubt Adam will position Visit Sandy Springs as a top contender for meetings, conventions, and sporting events, helping to drive more tourism and direct spending to our destination,” Paul said, according to the release.
