Children’s Museum of Atlanta announced that it will be honoring Stephanie Blank, the founding chair of the Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students, with its “Power of Play Award” during its upcoming Imagination Ball.

Taking place on March 21 at the Atlanta History Center, the annual fundraising event gives the award to individuals that exemplify the museum’s mission of inspiring children’s imaginations and sense of discovery, according to a release.

Blank, a longtime advocate for children, has played a pivotal role in the museum’s history, Children’s Museum of Atlanta said.

During her over two decade span of supporting the museum, her contributions include leading a capital campaign that helped with constructing the museum’s current location near Centennial Olympic Park, among others.

Outside of her work with Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Blank also co-founded Mothers and Others for Clean Air (organization that looks to reduce pollution impacts on children) and has been involved with several organizations dedicated to improving children’s lives, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the REACH Georgia Scholarship Program, to name a few.

“Stephanie has been an unwavering advocate for uplifting Atlanta’s children,” said Edwin Link, executive director of Children’s Museum of Atlanta. “Honoring her as this year’s Power of Play Award recipient is just one small way for us to thank her for being a champion of play, creativity, and imagination as essential tools for inspiring children to reach their full potential.”

In addition to commemorating Blank’s achievements, the Imagination Ball will feature a seated dinner, numerous activities and a live auction.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Children’s Museum of Atlanta and its ongoing goal to enrich the lives of youth citywide.
