A water main break that sent a geyser 20 feet into the air along Peachtree Road in Buckhead on Thursday night has been repaired, according to the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management.
DWM crews worked overnight to repair a 107-year-old, 16-inch pipe at 2151 Peachtree Road. Water service is being restored to all residents and businesses in the area, according to a statement from DWM.
The river of water created by the break closed Peachtree Road near Colonial Homes Drive, but the DWM statement said traffic is moving again in a temporary pattern.
Both lanes typically used for northbound travel and the median are closed to vehicular traffic. The lanes usually designated for southbound travel are now being utilized as reversible lanes to accommodate traffic in both directions.
Please exercise caution while traveling through the area as crews continue the road repair.
