The 2025 Black History Film Festival, presented by Fulton County Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington Jr., kicks off Feb. 21 with an opening reception. 

The festival will run from Feb. 21-22, according to a press release. Actor Lamman Rucker, known for movies like “Why Did I Get Married?” and soaps like “All My Children,” will serve as the guest emcee for the opening reception.

During the Feb. 21 reception, which will take place at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center, students who participated in the Black History Film Festival Student Competition will win awards. Budding high school filmmakers are encouraged to submit an essay or video/reel to be considered. Submissions are due by Feb. 14. The film festival is free, but seating is limited. Guests can RSVP online.
