Sandy Springs Police detectives are looking for two individuals in connection to the shooting of a juvenile early Thursday morning, Feb. 20.

Warrants have been sworn out for Nikai Brown and Lynisha Helena Younger, according to a Sandy Springs Police Department news release.

Warrants obtained against Brown include aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, all felony charges. Misdemeanor charges against Brown include tampering with evidence and hindering a 911 call.

Detectives obtained a felony warrant against Younger for tampering with evidence.

Sandy Springs Police Department (SSPD) patrol units arrived at The Lodge on the Chattahoochee at 9401 Roberts Drive after a 911 call at 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20. The Fulton County Police Department SWAT team was called to clear the apartment, SSPD Spokesperson Sgt. Leon Millholland told Rough Draft Atlanta.

Officers found the victim and her friends at the scene. The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Millholland said the firearm used in the shooting was not recovered. He said on Feb. 20 that investigators had been unable to determine if it was an accident or if foul play was involved.
