Following the closing of Alon’s Bakery, Sage Wood Fire Tavern, and other retail stores, another Park Place restaurant in Dunwoody has apparently shut down.

On Feb. 24, furniture, food, plasticware, shelving, and kitchen utensils were seen strewn about the service entrance to Cowboys & Caviar, while the front patio area was crowded with furniture, booths, and other equipment.

People pulled up their cars to the back of the building and were seen carrying out various items and putting them in their cars. Two women loaded an oven into the trunk of an economy car. Several others “shopped” the furniture at the front of the establishment.

Several people told Rough Draft that the emptying out of Cowboys & Caviar started happening sometime during the morning of Feb. 24, adding that DeKalb County Marshals had been seen on the site.

Cowboys & Caviar, which occupied a space formerly operating as The Brass Tap, touted itself as an after-dinner option with live music, specialty drinks, bar food, and other entertainment.

As recently as four days ago, the restaurant’s social media posts were promoting future events. There was no answer when Rough Draft contacted the restaurant via phone around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 24.

Last January, owner EDENs announced a major renovation effort at the center, which is located across the street from Perimeter Mall on Ashford Dunwoody Road.

According to construction officials, the former Alon’s Bakery is being subdivided into three separate spaces, and a tenant, Pepper Boxing, is reportedly moving into one of the spaces.

The center still houses long-time tenants McKendrick’s Steak House, Cafe Intermezzo and Eclipse Di Luna, a tapas bar.

This is a developing story. Rough Draft has contacted both EDENS and Cowboys & Caviar, and will update the story when more information is known.
