
Candidates for mayor of Sandy Springs have collectively raised more than $300,000 so far through campaign contributions as of April 30.
The six city council seats and the mayor’s position are up for election on Nov. 4 in a non-partisan election.
Andy Bauman, who announced his campaign on April 3, raised $109,396 in a little more than a month. Bauman currently serves as the District 6 city council member.
Candidates in municipal elections were required to file a campaign contribution report Jan. 31, April 30 and June 30.
Incumbent Mayor Rusty Paul, running for his fourth term, raised $68,475 since filing his report Jan. 31. He’s raised a total of $122,188 since he announced he was running last September.
District 4 council member Jody Reichel raised $30,975 in the last reporting period. She has raised $61,285 to date since announcing her campaign on Jan. 8.
Dontaye Carter, who is making his second bid for election to the mayor’s post, raised $6,938 in the most recent reporting period. He’s raised $11,665 to date for his campaign, which he announced in January.
Alex Somer, a Sandy Springs resident who announced he was running for the mayor’s seat, has not filed campaign contribution forms or a declaration of intent to collect campaign contributions.
Andrew Chinsky, the lone candidate as of May 8 for the District 6 council seat that Bauman will leave at the end of his term, has raised $54,664 for his campaign. Chinsky began his campaign on March 20.
