Mular seeks reelection to Sandy Springs District 3 council seat

Melissa Mular announced she will seek reelection to the Sandy Springs City Council District Three seat.

“It has been an honor to serve the residents of Sandy Springs,” said Mular in her candidacy announcement. “I’m excited to build on the progress we’ve made and continue working to ensure our city remains a vibrant, safe, and thriving community for years to come.”

Mular, who is in her first term as a council member, said she wants to continue her proven leadership and results-driven approach to guide the city as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Mular said key commitments she delivered in her first term included:

  • Supporting major public safety facility improvements;
  • Implementing a “neighborhoods-first” approach to preserve community character;
  • Enhancing community engagement and transparency through multiple communication channels.

Mular’s vision for Sandy Springs focuses on four areas:

  • Prioritizing public safety;
  • Preserving neighborhood character;
  • Expanding parks, trails, and recreational amenities;
  • Promoting smart renewal of older commercial properties.

Mular said it is crucial that Sandy Springs is guided by experienced leadership. She said her background in executive-level corporate management, large HOA leadership, and her first term on the council enables her to bring a unique perspective and proven ability to build consensus and get things done.

Mular, who has lived in Sandy Springs for 25 years, retired in 2022 as an IBM technology executive in order to focus on serving the community. She said her extensive professional experience and deep connections to local neighborhoods make her uniquely qualified to represent and advocate for Sandy Springs residents.
