Front Runners Atlanta will be kicking off the beginning of Pride Month with the 35th annual Pride Run ATL on June 1.

Founded in 1991, Front Runners Atlanta created the first LGBTQ+ run in the Southeast to raise money for and awareness around HIV. Since its foundation, participants of the run have raised over $370,000 for HIV/AIDS services in Atlanta, with proceeds going to local HIV organizations like AID Atlanta, Bridge of Light, Lost ‘n’ Found Youth, and Inclusive Recovery.

This year, Pride Run ATL is partnering with the local woman-owned running store West Stride and Altra Running, and the top five fundraising participants who raise $750 or more will receive a free pair of Altra Running shoes and a $150 gift card to West Stride.

The charity 5K walk and run will start at the Charles Allen Gate of Piedmont Park on June 1 at 8:30 a.m., but the festivities begin on May 30 with the Champions Gala from 5 to 7 p.m. at Industrious O4W. This cocktail party will include signature drinks, light bites, music, a silent auction, and more, all raising money for AID Atlanta and the Out Georgia Impact Fund. The fun continues on May 31 with a bib pick-up block party at New Realm Brewing Co. from 1 to 5 p.m. Bib pickup is also available at West Stride starting tomorrow, May 29.

Registration is open until the morning of the race and costs $55. A virtual option is also available for those who would like to complete the 5K in a different location. Participants will receive a free Altra Running race tank and a “We Move ATL” finisher’s medal.
