Open Hand Atlanta’s recent Charity Golf Classic, held at the Cherokee Country Club, raised more than $260,000, enough to fund the high-quality ingredients needed to prepare over 88,000 medically tailored meals for neighbors in need.
Nonprofit Open Hand delivers delicious, nourishing meals and nutrition education to thousands of people who are living with chronic or severe illness or unable to cook for themselves.
Buckhead residents Mary Williams and Molly Osborne were co-chairs for the golf tournament.
Last year, Open Hand opened its new headquarters in West Midtown, near Shirley Franklin Reservoir Park. The 43,000-square-foot facility, equipped with a 75 percent increase in storage, 100 percent increase in warehouse space, and seven more loading docks, allows for more efficient and expansive service to the people relying on the organization’s work.
