Here is the 2025-26 calendar for Atlanta Public Schools (APS)

Rough Draft is pleased to provide the latest school calendars to help parents know when holidays and other events are scheduled.

Here is the 2025-2026 Atlanta Public Schools (APS) calendar so that you can plan for the upcoming year. 

APS includes schools and students in Fulton and DeKalb counties and other cities.

First day of school

The first day of school for the 2025-2026 school year is Fri., Aug. 1, 2025.

Holidays and breaks

The first school holiday is Labor Day on Mon., Sept. 1, 2025.

Mon., Sept. 22, 2025 is the first early release day of the school year.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is celebrated and coincides with “Teacher/Professional Learning Days” on Mon., Oct. 13-Tues., Oct. 14, 2025. The rest of that week is a holiday for Fall Break Wed., Oct. 15 – Fri., Oct. 17, 2025. School resumes on Mon., Oct. 20.

Tues., Nov. 4 is a “Teacher/Professional Learning Day.” It’s also Election Day.

Thanksgiving break will begin on Mon., Nov. 24, 2025, and end on Fri., Nov. 28, 2025.

Winter break will start on Mon., Dec. 22, 2025, and end on Fri., Jan. 2, 2026. The second Semester begins on Tues., Jan 6, 2026.

MLK Holiday is Mon, Jan. 19, 2026

Mon., Feb. 16- Tues,. 17, 2026 is an “Independent Learner Days/Professional Development Days.” A second Winter Break is on Wed., Feb. 18-Fri., Feb. 20. School resumes on Mon., Feb. 23.

Mon., Mar. 16, 2026, is an early release day.

Spring Break will begin on Mon., April 6, and end on Fri., April 10.

Mon., May 25 is Memorial Day and schools are closed.

Finally, the last day of school will be Thur., May 28, 2026.
