The Keep North Fulton Beautiful (KNFB) Board of Directors announced the appointment of Colleen Sanjurjo as its new executive director.
Sanjurjo takes the place of Ryder Leary, who has taken a position as director of annual giving at the National Wild Turkey Federation.
“We received more than 50 applications for the position and interviewed five,” said Keep North Fulton Beautiful Board Chair Mark Thomas. “Ryder personally recommended Colleen.”
Ryder was responsible for getting a disorganized recycling center back into pre-COVID shape, growing it in the Sandy Springs community to help position the organization for growth, grants, and donations.
One of her top issues is the environment, with a desire to leave the world better for her children and the community.
Sanjurjo has been visiting the recycling center at 470 Morgan Falls Road for years and has a familiarity with it. She plans to expand programs slowly, with more education, fundraising, and community engagement.

Sanjurjo is a graduate of the University of Georgia, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international affairs.
