Brookhaven Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run as Dustin Allen Davis, a 55-year-old male from Atlanta.

Kendall Brayden Hudson of Atlanta, 19, was arrested and charged on multiple counts after the crash at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Dresden Drive.

Around 1:46 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, Brookhaven Police Department found Davis in the southbound lane of Peachtree Road near Brookhaven City Centre, who died from his injuries. The vehicle involved in the collision, believed to be operated by Hudson, fled southbound on Peachtree Road and into the City of Atlanta.

Using Flock cameras to track the vehicle, BPD and Atlanta Police located Hudson and booked him into DeKalb County jail. Records show Hudson has been charged with first degree homicide by vehicle, hit and run resulting in death, driving too fast for conditions, driving under the influence, reckless driving, and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

“We are thankful for the swift work of Brookhaven Police in arresting the individual involved in the tragic, fatal hit and run in Brookhaven over the weekend. Our hearts mourn with the family of the victim and pray for justice to prevail,” said Brookhaven District 3 City Council Member Madeleine Simmons.

BPD officer Lt. Corey Van Alen said there has been no further information released about the victim.
