Jennifer Lopez is set to receive the Virtuoso Award at this year’s SCAD Savannah Film Festival.
Lopez is an award-winning actress, singer, and producer who has starred in films such as “Out of Sight,” “Hustlers,” “The Wedding Planner,” and more. This award is meant to honor her career as well as her upcoming role in Bill Condon’s musical remake of “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” set to release on Oct. 10.
“It’s an extraordinary honor to welcome Jennifer Lopez to Savannah,” Christina Routhier, Senior executive director of the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, said in a press release. “Her performance in ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ is a revelation and having an artist of her global stature join us is a landmark moment for our festival and our community.
Lopez will receive the award following a live recording of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast, hosted by The Hollywood Reporter Executive Editor Scott Feinberg, on Nov. 1.
This year’s event is the 28th iteration of the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, which will run from Oct. 25 – Nov. 1 in Savannah. The film festival is presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Festival passes are on sale now and individual event tickets go on sale Oct. 3.
