This weekend, the LGBTQ+ community will gather in Pine Lake, GA – about 20 minutes east of Decatur – for an early start to Pride. On Saturday, Sept. 13, Pine Lake will transform into Pride Lake with drag, art, music, and more.

Pride Lake returns to Pine Lake Beach and Park at 4570 Lakeshore Drive for its fourth annual “protestival,” this year with the theme of “Love Thy Neighbor.”

The day’s events include free yoga with Debbie Liam, a self-defense class with Marti McCaleb, a Pride march at 4 p.m., and live music by Kris and Cheryl, Tim McCleod, Emily Backus, Preston Woodruff, and the Flying J’s.

The night concludes at the Beach House with an 18+ drag show starring Ming Vase Dynasty, Stilletto, Mr. Elle Aye, and Ariana D. Monroe at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees will also enjoy tarot readings by the Radiant Unknown; art for sale by J Sutton Ceramics, Lalah Manly, and Awesome Crochet; Pride merch from Odd Bird Gifts; face paint by Color Me Jazzed; and food and drinks from Luz del Sol Coffee, Brick House Bake Shop, and Tacos and Giggles.

The event will be accessible; two ASL interpreters will interpret the evening’s shows. If other accommodations are needed, email pridelake@gmail.com before the day of the festival.

Pride Lake is a non-profit organization founded on the belief that Pride is for everyone, even those living in small communities. The organization has brought a Pride march and festival to Pine Lake over the past four years and hosts an annual Gayla fundraiser in June.

This year’s Pride Lake is supported by Atlanta Pride’s 2025 grant initiative, Pride Across the Peach State. PrideLake was one of 11 Pride organizations across Georgia granted money to support their events.
