Queer comedian Fortune Feimster comes to Atlanta Symphony Hall on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. on her “Takin’ Care of Biscuits” tour. Tickets are still available at aso.org.

Feimster is best known for her Netflix comedy specials “Sweet and Salty” and “Good Fortune,” both of which garnered Critics Choice nominations, as well as her brand-new special “Fortune Feimster: Crushing It.”

Her “Takin’ Care of Biscuits” tour follows the success of her 2024 tour “Live, Laugh, Love!”

“Like with my past shows, I talk about what’s currently going on in my life. I talk about my mom and my family,” Feimster told Georgia Voice. “I also share some fun stories from childhood so there’s a nostalgia factor to it. It’s just a really fun, silly, positive show that hopefully gives people some levity during these current times.”

Feimster, who hosts a podcast with fellow queer comedians Tig Notaro and Mae Martin, said that in the midst of anti-LGBTQ+ attacks nationwide, she hopes to bring people together through joy and laughter.

“It’s definitely a very nerve-wracking time where our rights feel threatened and could be revoked at any time,” she said. “I can’t do much to change those things on a bigger level but that’s why I do what I can to bring lightness and laughter to people. It’s my way of contributing. I know for myself, I just try to stay busy with work and I’ve been spending a lot more time with friends and family.”

The comedian says she’s “so excited” to be bringing her tour to Atlanta.

“I’ve filmed a few movies here in the last few years, so I’ve gotten to know the city much better,” Feimster said. “There are great restaurants, the people are so friendly, and love that it’s a big city but there are lots of trees. And you guys definitely have some great biscuits.”
