Brookhaven will hold the third annual Ride-Along Rodeo on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at Blackburn Park, according to city officials.

The Brookhaven Bike Alliance has partnered with the Brookhaven Police Department for an afternoon of bike safety courses, skills stations, and a guided ride through the park.

“Bring your bike and helmet, and make sure to register in advance for quick check-in,” the announcement said. “Fun, adventure, and plenty of pedal power await at this free family-friendly event.”

The event will start at 2 p.m. with a bike safety check. The first group ride will begin at 3 p.m. and the second at 3:30 p.m.

The group suggests people register in advance to ensure an on-time start.

Blackburn Park will also be the site for the city’s annual Light Up Brookhaven event on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 6-9 p.m. at Blackburn Park.

The event, which has been in play for more than a decade, will include offerings from local food trucks, holiday music, and the arrival of Santa by helicopter, courtesy of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

“Capture memories with photos alongside Santa himself, and watch as Brookhaven’s dazzling 40-foot Christmas tree and a Hanukkah Menorah light up the park,” a release from the city said.

Children can enjoy activities like bouncy houses, inflatables, train rides, a petting zoo, and hands-on crafts. There will be special holiday giveaways too, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
