The College Football Playoff semifinals are coming to Atlanta, with top-seeded Indiana and fifth-seeded Oregon meeting at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Friday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

The game, which will air on ESPN, offers the winner a spot in the National Championship Game on January 19 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

Indiana (14-0) earned its semifinal berth with a dominant 38-3 victory over Alabama in the Rose Bowl, marking the Hoosiers’ first CFP semifinal appearance in program history. Oregon beat Texas Tech 23-0 in the Orange Bowl, securing the Ducks’ second semifinal appearance.

For the first time in the bowl’s 58-year history, two teams from the same conference — both now members of the Big Ten — will face off. It’s Oregon’s first appearance in the Peach Bowl, while Indiana previously played in 1988 and 1990.

The programs have met four times previously, with the series deadlocked at 2-2. Earlier this season, Indiana beat Oregon 30-20 in Eugene, OR.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium last hosted a CFP semifinal in 2022 when the Georgia-Ohio State matchup drew a stadium record 79,330 fans, surpassing attendance figures for Super Bowl LIII and multiple championship games held at the venue.

This year’s semifinal is already sold out. The sellout marks the 26th sellout in the past 29 Peach Bowl games.

The Peach Bowl has previously hosted CFP semifinals in 2016, 2019, and 2022 under the four-team playoff format. This marks its first semifinal under the expanded 12-team system, following its hosting of a CFP quarterfinal last year.
