A local organization is holding a mahjong fundraiser on Jan. 26 to raise funds for a young mother who is now completely paralyzed after a tree fell on her car.
Maisie Marsau, whose husband, Jack, is a former Dunwoody resident and a graduate of St. Pius X, was critically injured on Aug. 25, 2025 in her Dallas, TX neighborhood after a massive tree fell on her car.

“She sustained a complete C-5 spinal cord injury, resulting in tetraplegia,” the fundraiser invitation said. “Maisie, Jack, and their daughter, Evans (then six months old), now face a long, uncertain road. The family will require significant, ongoing support for caregiving and medical needs for the rest of Maisie’s life.”
My Magnolia Mahjongg is the sponsor of the fundraiser, which will be held at Brookhaven’s Terra Terroir. All of the proceeds from the night will go directly to the Marsau family.

“Her survival is truly a miracle,” the invitation said. “Any donation, or simply sharing the details of this fundraiser, will make a difference for Maisie’s family as they begin this journey together. “
A GoFundMe website is raising funds for her care, which has collected $250,000 of its $275,000 goal.
