Tucker talks about loitering

🌆 During the Feb. 9 Tucker City Council meeting, council members will consider moving a loitering ordinance forward that will align with recent ordinance changes at DeKalb County.

The council will give a first read to the ordinance that seeks to change the City of Tucker Code Chapter 30, Article III, Division 2, Sec 30-93 to mirror the updated DeKalb County loitering ordinance. Last March, DeKalb County updated its loitering ordinance in response to requests from the business community, then began a new program to enforce it.

👓 Stephanie has a story on the ordinance and a preview of next Monday’s meeting.

Not the way you want to go ‘Krogering’

🍎 A woman has been arrested after employees at a Tucker Kroger accused her of disheveling the store and assaulting an employee.

DeKalb County officers were called to a disturbance at the Kroger, located at 4357 Lawrenceville Hwy, around 5:48 p.m. Feb. 5. Employees at the store told police that a woman, Tatiyana Alexander, entered the store and began yelling at customers, knocking down items, and eventually “pushed or hit” an employee, said Blaine Clark, DeKalb County Police Department public information officer.

😣 Here’s what happened.

Omega looks to expand senior food program

Ω Theoan LeDoux (pictured above, right) recalls going three months without eating meat.  She wasn’t aiming for a vegetarian diet, but her tight budget left her with little means to cover the rising costs of meat. Things changed for the 83-year-old when Omega Support Center began providing food boxes to her and other residents at Northlake Senior Residence in Tucker.

LeDoux, who now serves as a senior liaison at Omega, and hundreds of others get to enjoy canned and fresh vegetables, juices, and a variety of meats through Omega Support Center’s weekly food distribution.

🥶 Omega Support Center wants to continue the program, and expand it, but your help is needed.
