Milton Police confirmed on social media that a body recovered from a local pond is believed to be that of DJ Young Slade, also known as Nathan Murray Smith, who went missing on Tuesday.

“On February 6, 2026, at approximately 11:53 a.m., divers with the Cherokee County Fire Department located and recovered a body from the pond,” the Facebook post said. “The individual is believed to be Nathan Smith, pending official confirmation by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Milton Police said based on the current investigation, there is no indication of foul play.

“However, the Milton Police Department Criminal Investigations Division will continue to treat this as an open and active investigation,” the post continued. “No further details will be released until the official cause and manner of death are determined by the Fulton County Medical Examiner and all investigative leads have been thoroughly examined.

A heavy police and rescue presence was seen searching the pond near Smith’s Milton home. A witness observed a dive team in Mayfield Park remove a body from the water and carry it to a nearby tent.

Smith, 27, was the son of award-winning rapper and producer Lil Jon.

Smith was last seen at his residence on Baldwin Drive in Milton on Tuesday morning around 6 a.m. According to police, Smith ran out of the house and hasn’t been seen since. He was possibly naked and carrying no personal belongings.

The search for Smith had intensified with several K-9 units searching the neighborhood on Thursday.
