Southern restaurant {S}table Comfort Food {n} Cocktails, backed by Dash Hospitality Group, opens April 9 at Dunwoody Village. The group runs a collection of restaurants at what Dash founder David Abes dubbed “Funwoody” Village, including Bar{n} Booze and Bites, Morty’s Meat Supply, and Message In a Bottle.
{S}table (pronounced “stable”) replaces Steak & Grace at Dunwoody Village, which closed in January after less than a year in business. Owner Barry Mills reached out to Abes weeks before the closure asking if he would take over the Dunwoody Village steakhouse space and open another restaurant there.
“It’s the same landlord [Regency Centers] as my other restaurants, so it made things a lot easier and streamlined the process. [Barry] is focused on B’s Fish Joint right now,” Abes told Rough Draft in January. “We threw out a couple of different concepts and really loved the idea of Southern food.”

Expect starters like the Southern Lazy Susan cheese and charcuterie board, barbecue pulled pork dumplings, and Carolina crab dip. Entrees include buttermilk fried chicken, Georgia mountain trout “pecandine,” and twin whole-roasted quails served with cornbread dressing.
Chef Cameron Woods also offers daily meat-and-two options, with seasonal vegetables and protein choices like fried catfish, meatloaf, and pot roast. There’s warm pecan pie and s’mores for dessert.
The bar at {S}table serves Southern-leaning cocktails, like a sorghum Old Fashioned and ATL Sazerac, along with domestic beers and wines from American producers.
While Abes warmed up the dining room and bar with fresh paint, new light fixtures, and seat cushions, the biggest transformation for the former steakhouse space will take place on the patio. Set to open in the coming weeks, the patio at {S}table will be all-weather and resemble a horse barn, complete with chandeliers and an outdoor bar.
