- Expect a Baja-inspired, gluten-free food menu leaning into seafood.

Amasa Mexican Kitchen, a sister concept to Atlanta’s Chichería Mexican Kitchen, will open this summer in downtown Alpharetta’s City Center.
Located on Academy Street, the new Mexican restaurant is rooted in Baja-style cuisine that’s entirely gluten free and leans into seafood. Amasa will also feature house-made blue corn tortillas on the menu, a dedicated tequila room, and a Sunday brunch buffet inspired by Mexico City.
The menu
Amasa will focus on coastal Mexican flavors, with blue corn tortillas anchoring the menu. On Sundays, the cazuela brunch buffet will include dishes drawn from Mexico City’s culinary traditions. In addition the main menu, Amasa will also provide a children’s menu.
A dedicated tequila room and premium margarita flights round out the drinks menu. The restaurant also plans to host multi-course tasting dinners, tequila education classes, and dance lessons.
The restaurant space
The layout splits the restaurant into two distinct spaces: communal tables upstairs for a livelier, social atmosphere and two private dining rooms downstairs for smaller gatherings. Evenings will offer live jazz, saxophone performances, and Spanish singer-songwriters.
“Bringing Amasa to Alpharetta is incredibly exciting for us,” owner Juan Calle said. “We’re building on what guests already love about Chichería, while introducing new experiences, from our seafood-forward menu to our tequila program and live entertainment.”
Amasa should open this summer.
