DeKalb County firefighters responded to several grass fires early Monday morning.
Fire investigators at the scene told Channel 2’s Darryn Moore during Channel 2 Action News This Morning that they believe the fires may be acts of arson.
Channel 2’s Tom Regan has since now learned that a man is in custody and being questioned. No charges have been filed at this time.
One fire ignited in the wood line at the back of the Village at the Creek Apartments on North Indiana Creek Drive. It also got close to a man’s home that sits on the complex.
“All the sudden, I see the whole back yard there is on fire,” Larry Cherry said.
Crews also had to dose a smaller fire near a mosque down the road. And another fire happened along Memorial College Ave near James R. Hallford Stadium.
