A shooting in the Lakewood Heights neighborhood in southeast Atlanta has left one person dead and two others injured after what Atlanta Police are describing as “an escalating dispute between known parties.”

Just after noon on Monday, April 27, APD officers responded to calls about a shooting near Little Bear Food Mart at 1660 Jonesboro Road SE.

Emergency medical workers pronounced one female, age 43, dead at the scene. The two remaining victims, both transported to the Grady Hospital for treatment, are a male and female in their mid- to late-40s. At this time, no further information about the victims has been released.

“We have been able to determine they were all innocent victims, standing by in the parking lot,” APD said during a press conference. “It’s a little ambiguous right now. We are still trying to locate some persons of interest.”

Homicide investigators and the K-9 unit are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
