Brookhaven Police have charged two residents in connection with the sexual abuse of a juvenile.

Olga Patricia Mejia Zavala, 35, and Andres Hernandez, 45, both of Brookhaven, were charged with multiple offenses after allegations of abuse were reported by school officials, according to a release by the department.

Hernandez was charged with trafficking of persons for labor servitude, rape, aggravated child molestation, first-degree cruelty to children, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and aggravated sodomy.

Mejia Zavala was charged with trafficking of persons for labor servitude, rape, aggravated child molestation, first-degree cruelty to children, and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Hernandez and Mejia Zavala were transported to the DeKalb County Jail, where they are currently being held, according to online records.
