Legendary American singer-songwriter Don McLean is playing “the music that makes people smile” at the City of Sandy Springs’ annual Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration on July 4.
In a little over 50 days, the United States of America celebrates the nation’s 250th anniversary. McLean, best known for the iconic hit “American Pie,” is bringing the once-in-a-generation soundtrack to Sandy Springs with a concert at 8 p.m.

Now in its 13th year, the Stars & Stripes Celebration continues to bring Sandy Springs together through music, family fun, and patriotic pride. Stars & Stripes is made possible in part by the generous support of the Sandy Springs Foundation, which is still accepting sponsorships
The community celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. and builds toward a night of live entertainment and patriotic celebration. The evening culminates in a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m., lighting up the Sandy Springs sky in honor of Independence Day and America 250.
The city encourages residents and visitors to come hungry. Food trucks will begin serving at 6 p.m. Guests are also welcome to bring picnics or enjoy nearby restaurants. For everyone’s safety, tents and personal sparklers are not permitted.
