Businesses, collections, and families grow, and with growth comes the need for space. Maybe your baseball card collection is finally complete, but you don’t have enough room at home to store it. Maybe your Etsy store is taking off, but packing orders in your garage is becoming increasingly difficult. Maybe you and your kids are on top of one another, and you just need some space for yourself. Whatever the case, we could all use some more room.
A new development is coming to Tucker this year will solve this problem for residents and business owners looking for more space to grow.
The Catalyst at Tucker, a first-of-its-kind project from Georgia-based developer Carmichael Development, brings 41 self-storage units to Lawrenceville Highway. Each unit is designed to work for an individual’s needs: it can be a garage for classic cars, boats, and other large vehicles that don’t fit in the home garage or are restricted by HOA rules, or it can be an office to grow a start-up or side hustle.
“It can also serve collectors, hobbyists, and families looking for a private, comfortable space to gather, create, work, or unwind,” Jeshua Bertaud, the director of marketing for Carmichael, told Rough Draft. “Whether someone envisions a refined man cave, she shed, workshop, or private entertainment space, The Catalyst at Tucker is designed to give owners flexibility and pride in their space.”
The Catalyst at Tucker will be located at 3658 Lawrenceville Highway, down the street from Padel Highway. The project is underway, Bertaud said, with demolition, grading, and infrastructure work currently being done on the site. Carmichael expects to begin construction on the model building this summer, and construction on the second building is planned for fall 2026.
Carmichael Development was one of several presenters during the inaugural Tucker Economic Development Summit, hosted earlier this month, who shared updates on the innovation and growth coming to Tucker.

The Catalyst at Tucker is the first project of this kind from Carmichael, and the developer is hoping to introduce similar projects to the metro Atlanta area and beyond.
