Content creators and fathers through surrogacy Terrell and Jarius Joseph will be featured speakers in the upcoming Men Having Babies conference in Atlanta, June 5 – 7.
The Josephs are nationally recognized LGBTQ+ advocates who have become influential voices for Black gay parenthood and family visibility. The couple’s new book, ‘Love Out Loud,’ includes an honest and vulnerable look into their surrogacy journeys. They were the first Black same-sex couple to appear on the reality series “Wife Swap.”
The couple will open the conference by participating in a discussion about cultural conversation s and Black representation in surrogacy and LGBTQ+ parenthood in a panel called “The Broader Context for Gay Parenting and Surrogacy.” Other panelists include Tim’m West, the Executive Director of the LGBTQ+ Institute at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and Men Having Babies Board Member Jon Gulick.

“We feel aligned with the work that Men Having Babies has been doing to support and educate future gay parents through surrogacy,” the couple said in a statement. “As parents of three children and having experienced incredible challenges in our own family-building journeys, MHB’s mission deeply resonates with us. In fact, that’s partially why we wanted to write our book to begin with. Representation and creating space for authentic family stories has always been in the heart of the content we create, and we believe this conversation about the broader context is extremely valuable for our community, especially at this time.”
The three-day conference will bring together current and prospective gay fathers together to meet and consult with other dads, experts, and over 20 reputable LGBTQ+-friendly agencies, clinics, law firms, and other surrogacy providers. Attendees will access resources like budgeting and insurance information, a panel sharing tools to access inclusive surrogacy benefits in the workplace, a workshop for single gay dads, and more.
The 2026 Men Having Babies conference will be held at the JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown Hotel. Registration costs $50 and can be purchased on the Men Having Babies website.
