New Orleans-based dessert chain Sucre in Brookhaven closed, as first reported by Tomorrow’s News Today.

Reunion Kitchen & Bar in East Cobb will temporarily close and move to Sandy Springs over the summer, as first reported by WhatNow Atlanta. In an Instagram post, the owners of Reunion cited rising rent costs for the decision to relocate.

Coming attractions

Pretty Bird Chicken, a new rotisserie chicken restaurant, will open on the Howell Mill Road corridor this month, as first reported by Tomorrow’s News Today.

Taste Wine Bar & Market will open a second location at City Springs in Sandy Springs. The original location is located at The Works in Underwood Hills. The new location will feature 84 self-serve wine and beer taps, interactive tasting experiences and events, live music, a small plates menu, and a private events room. The grand opening takes place on June 27.

Menu updates

Chicheria Mexican Kitchen now offers an unlimited gourmet taco tasting experience on Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expect a rotating selection of tacos, like coconut shrimp, carne asada, and Baja fish, served on handmade, blue corn tortillas, along with chips, dips, and aguas frescas.

Dining community announcements

The annual Atlanta Chili Cook Off, taking place in Dunwoody this fall, is now accepting competitor applications. Registration ends October 1. 

Congratulations to Jakob McCabe-Johnston of Kimball House for being named one of the country’s best new bartenders by digital drinks publication Punch.

Atlanta Distillery’s vodka will return to Dragon Con as its official spirit. A limited-edition collector’s edition bottle is available for presale at dragonconspirits.com.
