MARTA police are currently investigating a shooting at the Midtown MARTA station.

Channel 2’s Courtney Francisco is at the station where police have it surrounded.

Police says shots were fired on a train stopped at the southbound platform of the station on 10th Street at 7 p.m.

A man was shot in the left arm and leg and taken to the hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition. Police said the incident may have been a targeted shooting.

Investigators say they are actively searching for the suspect.

Service was briefly paused at the station, but has since resumed although MARTA officials said delays might persist.

The shooting comes as MARTA is under federal investigation for a pair of stabbing attacks  – one fatal – that occurred in May.
