The Norcross Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect connected to a residential burglary near downtown Norcross in early June.
The investigation resulted in the recovery of stolen property, the identification and arrest of the suspect, and successful coordination between multiple law enforcement agencies, according to Norcross officials.

The Norcross Police Department did not provide the suspect’s name or any identifying characteristics. The case remains under investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming, according to the announcement.
“This case highlights the outstanding investigative work of our detectives and the value of strong partnerships among law enforcement agencies,” Police Chief Bill Grogan said. “Their quick actions not only led to the arrest of a burglary suspect but also helped recover stolen property and assist neighboring jurisdictions in solving related crimes.”
Residential burglary sparks investigation
Norcross police officers responded to a reported burglary on June 7 at a for-sale residence on Ollie Avenue that was being shown during an open house, according to the city’s announcement.
Investigators determined that an unknown male entered the home, went upstairs to the master bedroom, and stole multiple pieces of jewelry. The suspect fled the residence in a white SUV after being confronted by the listing agent, according to police.
The following day, detectives continued their investigation and successfully identified and tracked the suspect’s vehicle, using license plate recognition (LPR) cameras. During the investigation, detectives reported locating a male matching the suspect’s description inside a local pawn shop at an undisclosed location.
The individual was detained and questioned regarding the incident. Detectives then recovered numerous pieces of jewelry from the suspect’s possession, allegedly belonging to the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with felony burglary, along with several other misdemeanors, unspecified by the police department.
Norcross detectives said they contacted a neighboring law enforcement agency that had reported a similar burglary that same day. Investigators determined that some of the jewelry recovered from the suspect had been stolen during that burglary. The recovered property was transferred to the unidentified agency handling that case.
