Members of the Tucker community gathered at the city’s new Taichi Bubble Tea location on June 24 to welcome the new business to the city.
Growing since 2015, the national chain has more than 50 locations across the country. Tucker is the fifth location in Georgia, joining Marietta, Buckhead, Decatur, and Peachtree Corners. The business offers bubble tea, ramen, poke bowls, and sushi burritos, as well as crane games and frozen Japanese treats.

While Taichi Tea’s Tucker location opened on Lavista Road on June 8, the business celebrated the grand opening on Wednesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Tucker Mayor Anne Lerner and city council members Virginia Rece and Cara Schroeder were among those in attendance.
“I walked in this place and I just got this sense of energy and renewal. It’s beautiful, you have to come see it,” Lerner said. “We so appreciate [TaiChi Tea’s] investment in Tucker… We are so happy and proud to have [the business] here.”
The ceremony also included a tai chi performance and lion dance by members of the Chien Hong School of Kung Fu. Gary Mitchell, the school’s director, explained the significance of the lion dance, a traditional performance meant to bring in good luck and chase away bad luck.

Taichi Bubble Tea Tucker is located at 4020 Lavista Road. The restaurant is open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. More information can be found on Taichi Tea’s website.
