The Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in southwest Atlanta.

The teenager’s body was found on Tuesday, July 6, but detectives believe he’d been shot on July 4.

Just after 10 p.m.on July 4, APD officers responded to a report of a person shot near 999 Washington St. SW. Upon arriving on the scene, officers located a 27-year-old male and a 26-year-old male who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were alert, conscious, and breathing.

During a July 16 canvass of the area for evidence, officers found the body of the 16-year-old on Washington Street. Investigators believe all three shootings are related to each other.

The investigation continues.
