Macon Area Habitat for Humanity and Macon Pride are partnering to launch a Pride Build, a community-centered, hands-on volunteer event building safe, stable housing for families in Middle Georgia.

Habitat for Humanity’s affiliate-run Pride Build campaign brings together local members of the LGBTQ+ community, allies, and homeowners to work together on a build site while also shedding light on the decades of systemic discrimination keeping LGBTQ+ people and families from homeownership.

The Macon Pride Build will take place on July 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1327 Duncan Avenue. Volunteers must be 16 years old or older.

The event is part of Macon Pride’s inaugural Summer of Giving, a months-long campaign designed to uplift Middle Georgia through service, creative collaboration, and community-driven fundraising.

The campaign kicked off on June 13 with “Pride in Your Park,” a clean-up event at Ocmulgee Mounds National Park, and continues throughout August with a Period Packing Party and a community garden project.
