Atlanta-based “work club” Switchyards will close its Midtown location inside the historic Biltmore Hotel building on Aug. 27.
Open since 2023, Switchyards said in an email to members that it was informed by the building’s owner, the Georgia Tech Foundation, that the space would be converted to a restaurant as part of a larger renovation. The name or type of restaurant is still unknown.
Georgia Tech announced last year that it was transforming the former hotel, a century-old landmark, into a tech hub for entrepreneurs.
“As sad as we are to leave, we’re grateful we got to be part of this beautiful building’s long history,” Switchyards wrote in its email to members. “Addio, Biltmore.”
Switchyards said memberships will get users into all its locations – 38 clubs across 17 cities, including 12 in Atlanta.
