A program that is no stranger to success, the Norcross Blue Devils are looking to spring back into prominence in 2026. Entering Corey Richardson’s second season as head coach, the Blue Devils are seeking their 17th straight postseason appearance after a first-round exit a year ago. Richardson, a long-time assistant on the Norcross staff, took over for longtime Norcross head coach Keith Maloof in 2025. Maloof spent 26 successful seasons leading the Blue Devils, winning back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013, along with seven region titles. Richardson began his tenure with the Blue Devils by leading Norcross to a winning season, going 6-5 in the regular season with a 4-3 record in Region 7-6A.
Even with the new reclassification beginning this season, the Blue Devils will see most of the same teams this season as they made the jump from Class 6A to Class 7A. Region 7-7A consists of Berkmar, Brookwood, Duluth, North Gwinnett, Parkview, Peachtree Ridge and Norcross as Meadowcreek is the only team missing from last season’s region. Following the graduation of last year’s starting quarterback PJ Wolfe, the Blue Devils will undergo a quarterback battle with rising senior Logan Herring and Luqman Baig as they both hold tons of potential to lead the offense. The Blue Devils lost tons of talent on both sides of the ball but are returning a handful of playmakers to make an impact. Anthony Allen and Jayson Jones return to the Blue Devils in 2026 ready to lead the defensive unit.
