Meals On Wheels Atlanta is reimagining one of its signature fundraising events with a refreshed vision for the ninth annual Power Luncheon, set for Thursday, Sept. 17, at 1705West, 1705 Commerce Drive NW.
The event will bring together Atlanta’s creative, business, civic, and philanthropic communities for conversations on creativity, leadership, and purpose while raising money to support local seniors, according to a release from the organization.
Centered on the theme “Curating a Life of Style & Impact,” the luncheon will explore how fashion, beauty, design and entertainment shape not only the lives people build for themselves but also the impact they leave on others.
Through conversations with leaders who have built careers rooted in creativity, confidence and purpose, attendees will hear fresh perspectives on defining success, leading with intention and using influence to inspire change, the release said.
“The Power Luncheon has always celebrated leadership, but this next chapter allows us to bring together an even broader community of visionaries whose work inspires others and creates meaningful change,” said Charlene Crusoe-Ingram, chief executive officer of Meals On Wheels Atlanta. “Whether through fashion, design, beauty, entertainment or business, every speaker reminds us that influence is most powerful when it’s used to lift others. We’re excited to welcome guests for an afternoon that sparks conversation while helping ensure Atlanta’s seniors continue receiving the meals, connection and care they deserve.”
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and will feature a conversation moderated by Cara Kneer, TV host and news reporter. Speakers include Emily Loftiss, creative director, stylist and co-founder of ICONIC Brand; Eva Marcille, actress, model, entrepreneur, and TV and radio host; John Plaster, principal architect at Plaster Architecture; and Helen Zhang, co-founder of ALCÔVE AESTHETICS.
Guests will enjoy an afternoon of conversation, networking and a luncheon as speakers share personal stories about building careers with intention, embracing authenticity and using their platforms to make an impact.
The program is designed to inspire attendees while raising money for Meals On Wheels Atlanta’s mission of addressing senior hunger and isolation, the release said.
Proceeds from the event will support Meals On Wheels Atlanta’s mission to provide nutritious meals, wellness checks and social connection for older adults throughout metro Atlanta, helping seniors age with dignity and independence.
